The Patterson-McCormick Mansion was constructed in 1891 by architect Stanford White.

The home was built for Elinor Medill, the daughter of Chicago Tribune publisher and former mayor, Joseph Medill. The mansion was later purchased by Cyrus McCormick II in the 1920s and later converted into apartments in 1978.
